Party With Murakami: The Octopus Eats Its Own Leg

Introduction For the past year I have really dived into the world of contemporary artwork thanks to some awesome teachers at The University of North Texas. One semester I had to do a quick mini-presentation on artist, Takashi Murakami. I quickly became obsessed without knowing how famous and relevant Murakami really was today. I kept thinking to myself, "man I hope he comes to America." As soon as I got out of school for the summer, I got word that Murakami was coming not only to America, but to the Forth Worth Modern, a good 45 minutes away from my apartment. I quickly snatched up the pricey(but worth it) tickets for the opening party as an early birthday present to myself.
